Karádi and Berger winery: grape harvest in photos

We visited the Karádi és Bergerwinery at the weekend of 23, October. There were more reasons for this. On one hand, this is a cool ruin- inn with a pleasant atmosphere situated in a beautiful area– so this is not an ordinary winery. On the other hand,, I knew that the grape harvest  was still on so at least the children could  watch how  wine was made. Thirdly, I could test my new Canon camera.. (Unfortunately,  the wine-tasting  was dropped out since we had to  travel here from Középhuta by car.). There is a possibility to lie down on the grass in the garden in summer. What’s more a sand box and a playground are built there. In winter or when the weather is bad people can taste wine in the vault that seems warmer than the air outside or in the host room in the house.
If somebody travels to Erdőbénye, go to the winery- I think they won’t be disappointed.

Android Market Bug

One of our applications was removed from Android Market. It disappeared out of the blue, we just received and unpleasing e-mail about it. They decided like that. Accept it! No reason was represented in the e-mail that at least it would have foreshadowed the problem to the generative. Not to mention the fact that it was not a new application but an older one that has been used for nine months.

Tacx Bushido

Let’s start with a short description of the Tacx Bushido roller after the first tests and experiences.

Installation:
Firstly, it is very well invented because there is no connection to the  trundlers (plag or cable). The control panel on the wheel as well as the computer softver communicate wirelessly with the back roll. It is perfect!

Softver: I have been working in the computer business for 20 years but I have to admit that the softver installation is perfectly developed: even someone who is not professional in informatics is able to install it. Every useful information can be found on the CD, moreover it installs everything itself. If the USB control needs to be taken out or plugged in again it alarms you. The CD key is inevitable for the program. In addition, the first time you commence it you have to activate it via web.

I unhooked the running shoes…

for the sake of my son. Unfortunately, I was  practically prohibited  from running by my sport doctor some years ago-  because of  an inheritable spinal problem- he advised  me to use my bicycle and  do yoga but with limit.  However, I felt that it’s time to show my eldest son how good running is (and the sport itself) and to give him little foretaste from the atmosphere of the competitions. I myself  rather run in the fields- I used to have only 2 favourite asphalt  competitions: the  Highland Half Marathon and the Kékes Peak Run -  however , the Spar Marathon was such an occasion at the beginning of October where my kid could  get the taste of  this atmosphere and fill with energy.

Csaba Németh and the UTMB

Csaba Németh finished fourth at this year’s UTMB® (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®) mountain ultra-marathon running race. On the following interview ask him about the race, the nature of the sport and the secrets of ultra-marathon running.

A: Congratulations on your performance and the fourth place you achieved on the UTMB 2011 race. Can you tell us a little bit more about the race itself? What exactly is it about and who are the competitors?

N.CS: Thank you for your congratulations. The competition was first held in 2003, and as the name implies, it stands for the Mont Blanc ultra-marathon running race that leads across three countries – France, Italy and Switzerland. The race is designed for the classic, traditional type of long distance running. The route leads through places that are more appropriate for running and also have a spectacular view. In the beginning, the distance was about 140-150 km but this year it exceeded 170 km. The altitude difference, but is also very important, was 7500 m back then, which by this year has reached 9,800 m. During the early years not many people entered the race, but it has outgrown itself now. One of the reasons for the growing interest is that long distance running has become very popular in Europe. I can compare this phenomenon to the growing popularity of Northern rock climbing among mountaineers.

At the Foot of Mount Bükk

“Where should we head off to? Whereabouts?” – we pondered, sitting in the hotel room. Personally, I am one of those that can do with only two or three days of the spa – sauna – siesta-type of experience. In cases like that, I already feel the persuasion of the blood trickling in my legs from the second day on: well, come on! Time to start off! Of course, with two small children (three and five years old), it is never easy to determine the limit of the tour. We need to be sure that they can still make it so I would not get the task of carrying them all the way down with one of them sitting on my back and the other one in my lap (unfortunately this did happen in the past, as I still recall our tour to Regéc). Luckily for us, both children learned to walk quite soon. Ever since that time I have always made them walk on their own feet as much as possible, even if they started to whine. I made up new destinations to reach again and again, because I knew exactly that – given the extra amount of energy they had – they would still be over-excited about going to bed and jumping all around in it after getting home…
